Texas driving log form
Texas has its own driving log, DES150N. You fill in a row for each drive and turn it in.
In the state's own words
“When your student is eligible for the provisional license take this log, the DE-964 driver education completion certificate and with the other required documents to the Department of Public Safety.”
“30 hours of behind the wheel driving practice, of which at least 10 hours must be at night”
Checked on the state's own website on October 18, 2026. Rules change, so confirm with your DMV before your appointment.
What this means for you
Texas teens do 30 hours of practice, 10 at night, as part of driver education. The TDLR log, DES150N, is set out as lessons such as backing and parking, and the supervising adult signs each row. The form says to take it to DPS with the DE-964 certificate. Bring it when the teen applies for the provisional license, at 16 or older, after at least 6 months with the learner license. The DPS teen page lists the certificate but does not name the log, so bring both.
