Connecticut driving log form
Connecticut asks a parent to sign Driving Instruction Log for the hours. It has no row for each drive, so keep your own log.
In the state's own words
“Your Qualified Trainer will need to sign the (Form R-229) verifying that you fulfilled all driver education/practice driving requirements.”
“the Applicant has received the required training, including the equivalent of 22 hours classroom training; 40 hours on-the-road instruction; the 8 hours Safe Driver course, including a 2 hour Parent Training, as supported by a parent log and/or driving school certificate.”
“Parents will need to keep track of their teen driver’s training progress with this log.”
“Driving at Night (min. 5 hrs.)”
Checked on the state's own website on October 18, 2026. Rules change, so confirm with your DMV before your appointment.
What this means for you
The Parent/Guardian Driving Instruction Log has a row for each lesson, and parents keep it to track home training. At the road test, the trainer signs Form R-229 to say that the training and practice driving are done.
