Massachusetts driving log rules
Massachusetts has no required log form. Any log works, and a parent certifies the hours.
In the state's own words
“I further certify by my separate signature that the applicant has completed the required number of hours of behind-the-wheel driving by a validly licensed person aged 21 or over, with at least one year of driving experience, in addition to the requirements of the driver education and training program.”
“Complete at least an additional 40 hours of supervised, behind-the-wheel driving as shown by a certified statement by a parent or guardian.”
“Use the log below or the free mobile app, RoadReady® to track time spent on the road as well as a way to ensure that your teen has a diverse supervised driving experience.”
Checked on the state's own website on October 18, 2026. Rules change, so confirm with your DMV before your appointment.
